{"id":56294,"date":"2023-12-11T15:59:34","date_gmt":"2023-12-11T15:59:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saveupdata.com\/?p=56294"},"modified":"2023-12-11T15:59:34","modified_gmt":"2023-12-11T15:59:34","slug":"ragnarock-is-a-heavy-metal-viking-themed-psvr2-rhythm-game-worth-buying-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saveupdata.com\/reviews\/ragnarock-is-a-heavy-metal-viking-themed-psvr2-rhythm-game-worth-buying-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Ragnarock is a heavy metal viking themed PSVR2 rhythm game worth buying"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Music fans who love a bit of heavy metal will dig this virtual reality rhythm game.<\/p>\n<p>As fans are still getting used to the new PSVR2 headset the titles keep coming thick and fast.<\/p>\n<p>And this Oculus hit transfers brilliantly to the new console device.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a simple game at its heart &#8211; hit the drums in time to the rhythm of the ever oncoming Guitar Hero-style runes.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019re in charge of a Viking ship and the beat of your drums is what keeps your crew rowing.<\/p>\n<p>So miss-hit and its bad news, but a decent flurry of successful beats and you\u2019ll notch up huge scores.<\/p>\n<p>The tracks you rock along too are from bands most people will never have heard of.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article29355987.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_alfheim-9.png\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<figure data-mod=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/incoming\/article23521870.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s458\/0_MAIN-Newsletter.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p> Daily Star&apos;s newsletter brings you the biggest and best stories \u2013 sign up today<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/@trinitymirrordigital\/chameleon-branding\/publications\/dailystar\/img\/logo-schema-dailystar.png\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Heavy metal groups like Alestorm, Gloryhammer, Saltatio Mortis and Wind Rose provide more than 30 thumping guitar-laden tunes to rock along to.<\/p>\n<p>And you can play each song at three different difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s great fun and, as a rock and roll fan, it was quite refreshing to be doing a rhythm game to my favourite style of music to acts I\u2019d mostly never even heard of before.<\/p>\n<p>The celtic vibes of tunes, mixing speedy bagpipes with double-kick metal tunes for example, pumped along at such pace even in the simplest of difficulties that they were a challenge.<\/p>\n<p>When I tried the harder settings the drum rolls got ridiculously complex and made me laugh out loud continuously as I flailed my arms all over the place trying to keep up with my viking hammers.<\/p>\n<p>Multiplayer mode sees you taking on up to five online rivals in a bid to outrace each other. The more correct hits, the quicker you row to the finish line. Great stuff.<\/p>\n<p>Ragnarock is easy to play, hard to master.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article29355994.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_gameplay_2.jpg\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<figure data-mod=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article29228309.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s458\/0_PR_PSVR2_GREYSERIES_01_16X9.png\"><\/figure>\n<p> PSVR2 is an amazing piece of 4K PS5 tech that elevates virtual reality<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/@trinitymirrordigital\/chameleon-branding\/publications\/dailystar\/img\/logo-schema-dailystar.png\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Only the most experienced players will be able to collect all the gold medals on offer in game, beat the high scores and sign their name on the VR leaderboard.<\/p>\n<p>It looks amazing, with a No Man\u2019s Sky style colourful cartoon backdrop design as you rock your way through vibrant other-worldly plains and rivers.<\/p>\n<p>The Nordic and rock influenced rowing arenas are wonderfully built and you struggle to keep you eyes on the drums in front as you gawp around at giant sword-waving beasts, rainbow rivers and oncoming space castles.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s all a bit trippy, intense in gameplay, musically brilliant and highly enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p>This is exactly what VR is there for.
