Demon Hunters In Hearthstone Are Far Too Strong, And These Two Cards Are The Most Likely To Be Nerfed

Since launching with the Ashes of Outlands expansion, the new Demon Hunter class in Hearthstone has overwhelmed all the other classes, boasting a massive 10% higher win rate than the next highest class, and nearly 20% higher than the lowest. Those poor Shamans – how far they’ve fallen to 36% overall. Oof.

Normally Blizzard offers some kind of balance update to help the overall meta around halfway through the expansion, but in severe cases, they need to step in early and make a fix to prevent the game being dominated by one specific class or deck archetype, and the Demon Hunter is both. As a result, the following two cards are ripe for a balance update –  also known as smashing it to bits with the good ol’ nerf bat.

Of all the cards previewed before the launch of the expansion, this was the most obvious to be overpowered, and it has not disappointed. Five mana to draw three cards is already a card that might see play on its own, and the Rogue class has to pay 7 mana to draw four cards. However, coupled with the Outcast keyword, the value that can be gained with this card is simply far to great.

This is most problematic because right now, most players are using the Demon Hunter class with either a pure aggro or a midrange deck and having the ability to refill a hand and to have those cards potentially cost nothing is too powerful. The card is currently included in 86.8% of all decks and sees an average win rate of 62.7%.

A reasonable nerf is likely going to be increasing the mana cost to as high as seven, reducing the number of cards drawn to two, or seeing the Outcast effect reduce the cost only by one or two mana instead of three. However, it must be said that Skull of Gul’Dan is one of the most powerful cards ever printed in Hearthstone, full stop.

Eye Beam And Overall Lifesteal

This is currently the most popular Demon Hunter class card in the game and appears in nearly 93% of all decks and sees a win rate of around 61.4%. The issue here again is that the card is perfectly fair in its normal form, but its Outcast keyword provides an immense amount of value for removal and life gain. Regardless of what deck one uses for the Demon Hunter, this is important. Aggro and midrange need removal to control the board just long enough to establish lethal damage, and the ability to have it for free makes this card invaluable.

This card is also invaluable in Highlander and Big Demon archetype decks, and that leads to an overall problem with lifesteal. Right now, it feels like the Demon Hunter can use his face to hit every enemy minion on the board, and never drop to a critical level of health. As a result, a reasonable nerf to this card would simply be reducing the mana case to one or two mana, possibly doing less damage, and losing lifesteal altogether.

However, while this card is performing well in all decks, its success may be tied to Skull of Gul’Dan. If that were nerfed, Eye Beam might overall be in a good place.

A quick note is that all of the stats above are based on HSreplay.net, which is not the same as Blizzard’s internal data. Still, the data does show hundreds of thousands of games, and the number are likely to change daily as the meta forms.

Warzone’s Kill-Feed Needs A Major Overhaul

Pretty much everything about the information displayed when a player picks up a kill in Warzone needs to be looked at and improved.

Call of Duty: Warzone was only released a few weeks ago, so there are going to be problems that need to be addressed – whether they be elements of the game the majority of players don’t like, or parts of the game that simply don’t work. Luckily, 2020 is a time in which players can let developers know what their grievances are in real-time. Yes, sometimes, that can be a good thing.

The latest grievance to be raised by a number of Warzone players is the kill feed that appears when a player kills a rival. A number of things begin to pop up on the screen and it’s almost impossible to take all of it in. Each element appears in a completely different part of the screen which means players have to pick one thing and ignore the rest.

That’s not the biggest pet peeve Warzone players appear to have when it comes to kill information, though. Although there is a solo mode, most people play Warzone in teams of three, or four starting from today. Chances are one member of a team won’t be responsible for eliminating an entire rival team. Everyone will chip in, and players are requesting that a “Team Wiped” message appear whenever a team kills all three or four members of an opposing team.

There’s a chance Activision ignores these requests and carries on as normal. However, battle royale games do tend to borrow from each other when another has a good idea. Apex Legends includes pre-recorded messages that allow players to relay something to the rest of their team quickly and easily. Perhaps we could see that feature adopted by Warzone in the future.

Xbox One Project xCloud Beta Adds Three EA Titles

Project xCloud is Microsoft’s game-streaming service. Currently still in beta, the program has been available to select users since October last year. With big Microsoft titles like Gears 5, Halo 5: Guardians, Killer Instinct, and Sea of Thieves all on the service, EA becomes the newest company to add games to the service.

Dragon Age: Inquisition, Unravel Two, and The Sims 4 are all big titles for Microsoft to scoop up. Whether you’re a fan of Bioware’s RPG series, ready to traverse puzzles with the power of yarn and friendship, or just someone who enjoys the satisfaction of living through and managing the lives of their Sims, these three are some of the best titles to come out of EA in the past few years.

There is no word on when the streaming service will be ready for testing on other platforms. The Inside Xbox April 2020 announcements only touched on Project xCloud, including the addition of the three EA titles, with the streaming service preview set to open up in 11 more countries across Western Europe on top of the original four countries it began in.

If you are lucky enough to live in a country participating in the beta preview, you can still sign up to be a part of the program. To participate you’ll need a compatible Android device, a Microsoft account, an Xbox One controller with Bluetooth, and an internet connection with 10Mbps downloads.

Project xCloud is also available on iOS, but with fewer games and features currently available.

GameSpot may get a commission from retail offers.

How Hard is it to Become a Pro Gamer At Fortnite

Did you get promoted to the master tier when you finished your last match in Fortnite? If you did, you’ll want to consider becoming a professional gamer. Now, maybe you think that you cannot really earn a lot of money from it or that only the best players can make it – however, this is not entirely true. With the proper help and training, becoming a pro can be easy.

If you are interested in becoming a pro gamer, you’ll need to follow some steps that will make it easier and less overwhelming for you. And, this is exactly what the list in this article can help you with. Let’s take a look at the steps you need to take in order to become make things easier for yourself:

1. You’ll Need The Right Equipment

Having and using the right equipment can have a major impact on how you perform while gaming. For all the individuals who think that this is not important, I argue that you cannot see a professional player that has a mouse with a ball in it and you’ll never see a pro with a monitor from the late ‘90s.

Of course, this does not mean that you should immediately get gear worth thousands of dollars. However, you should at least consider getting a computer that is powerful – which will in return, make your training easier. From there, you can purchase new equipment from time to time and with it improve your performance.

2. Learn Everything There is About It

So, you now know that it is important to gear up, but, the next thing you should think about doing is learning more things about the game. Now, you must be wondering – but I already know a lot of things about it. Well, let’s take Monopoly as an example. At first, it seems difficult, especially if you are trying to complete the board as a child. However, over time, you start understanding the basics.

Imagine if monopoly got new updates and patches every week. It would change how you operate – and this is exactly what happens to Fortnite as well. It undergoes a lot of changes almost every week. Hence, if you wish to become a pro at this Fortnite, it is not enough to know everything about the current version only – you need to practice every day and learn everything about the new version.

3. Hire And Play With a Coach

You should not hesitate to hire and play with a coach. People literally hire coaches for just about anything, and having a gaming coach is one of the best ways for you to learn more about the strategies and you’ll be able to improve your skills in a short period of time.

If you choose to play with a pro, one of the biggest advantages that you can gain is reducing the time you’ll need fr improvement and it is one of the ways that you can 100% guarantee that you’ll get better. If you are interested in seeing what PwP services you can opt for, check out this website.

Besides improving your skills, you’ll also learn how to accept advice, as well as critique, one thing that can be difficult for people to accept and develop – but is important for becoming a pro. Becoming better at Fortnite will require you to make mistakes over and over again and since a coach already went through all of these things they will keep you on track and help you overcome difficulties.

4. Practice, Practice, Practice

The biggest part of learning and becoming better at anything is, of course, practicing. Training and practicing more basically means that you’ll get more things done in a shorter period. Think about it as trying to accomplish something in three hours instead of five. When you first started playing it, how many new things did you notice? All of it probably. And this led to you learning a lot of stuff.

Next, as you continue playing, you learn more by memorizing the map, remembering where the important things and locations are, and what did this competitive game requires from you at the beginning? Focus. When you first started playing, you were probably 100 percent focused – because you needed to be.

Over time, you got more skilled and proficient, you learned new things and with it open up new possibilities for yourself – ones that ultimately led you to be on top of the scoreboard. By practicing, you’ll be able to get the same results with 4 hours of practice, instead of 7 – which means that you have an additional 3 hours to spend on watching demos and recovery.

5. You’ll Need to Create a Personality And Gain Reputation

You’ll need to put your own print on the game – especially when you start playing with the best gamers out there. One of the best ways to do this is to take a look at your favorite pro-Fortniter. Is it only their skills you like or is it also their interesting personality? Probably both. If you want to become a pro, you’ll need to create a personality and make yourself known to other people.

6. Stream The Game

This is one of the easiest ways for you to create a personality. Of course, streaming can be quite intimidating, however, it will open endless possibilities for you. Your first video will be uncomfortable to make and post, but, like everything else, it will get easier as time passes. Additionally, it will allow you to come closer to your audience and connect with them. Remember, it is okay if you have a few hundred views at first. Over time, this number will start increasing which can lead you to a successful gaming career.

7. Being a Team Player is Important

Learning to communicate with other players can help you lower the problems and tension between the team member, which will in return, leads to a better understanding and ability to play better together. It will allow you to grow even further – and trust me when I say, people love team players.

Conclusion

By following the steps from the article above, you’ll be able to make the entire process of becoming a pro-Fortnite gamer easier, less time-consuming, as well as less overwhelming for yourself. So, now that you know what you should do, do not waste any more time. Instead, you should start from the first step in this article – which is getting yourself new gear that can help you with becoming a professional gamer – a job a lot of people wish they had.

Mortal Shell Looks Like A Cross Between Dark Souls And Warframe

From developers behind Metro: Exodus, Ghost of Tsushima, World of Warcraft, and more comes Mortal Shell–an action-RPG with Dark Souls influences, set for launch later this year on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

From developer Cold Symmetry, Mortal Shell includes the deliberate combat that has been popularized by From Software’s Souls series, with role-playing elements that let you upgrades weapons and skills as you explore a non-linear open-world. The reveal trailer below sets its tone well, with a more horror-focused atmosphere than that of its influences.

https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/snpXO73u5sw

One aspect of Mortal Shell that stands out is the shells themselves. You’ll physically wear the empty bodies of fallen warriors, each of which will play with different fighting styles and abilities. You can get comfortable with a shell and upgrade it further, letting you choose your style of play and adapt accordingly with items and weapons on top of it.

Mortal Shell has been in development for over two years, with Cold Symmetry comprising of only 15 employees. It’s three co-founders–Andrew McLennan-Murray, Anton Gonzalez, and Vitaly Bulgarov–are excited to finally show off the studio’s work. “The last two years have been a time of non-stop growth, full of shocking revelations of sheer complexity that goes into creating a video game that you, yourself, would really enjoy playing,” a press release from the studio reads.

Mortal Shell isn’t too far away either, with a planned launch in Q3 2020. You can apply to play the beta on the game’s official website, although details of the test are not yet known.

Team Esper face disciplinary action after allegedly throwing final RLCS game

Team Esper, playing in the Oceanic league LPL that ties into the RLCS, have allegedly thrown their final game to team Fury. This gave Fury the playoff spot over Renegades, who fell just shy in fifth place. Psyonix has already stated that an investigation has started, while Team Esper posted a message that they have dropped the team. The final game itself can still be found on Twitch.

Team Esper under investigation

Team Esper came up against Fury in the final match of the season in the Oceanic league. Here, they lost their own playoff spot after losing game four, and game five would mean one of two things. Win, and Renegades would take fourth place. Lose, and Fury takes it.

But from the first second, it was evident something fishy was going on with a completely botched kickoff by Team Esper. Even the casters took note of it. As the game went on, Team Esper made more and more noticeable “mistakes”.

The community quickly caught on as well, calling for investigations and bans, and Psyonix complied. In a statement on the Rocket League Esports subreddit, Psyonix confirmed their investigation. They also said the following:

“We take the integrity of matches extremely seriously, and any sort of intentional match throwing will not stand in our leagues. […] That being said, we are working on fully understanding the situation and are checking over game logs, getting information from players, and reviewing the gameplay. Once we have a full understanding of what happened, we will communicate our decision.”

Dropped by the organization

Whether it was already planned for the end of the season or not, Team Esper quickly released a tweet stating that their Rocket League roster had been let go. They released it so quickly, in fact, that they failed to catch an obvious misspelling of ‘farewell’ in there.

A huge thanks to our Rocket League players for their hard work this season.

Our time with them has drawn to a close, and we wish them all the best in the future.

Hope to return shortly!

View image on Twitter

This is a developing story, and what might happen to the league standings remains unclear. Some pros are calling for a ban for the Team Esper players while Fury and Renegades play a tiebreaker to determine the fourth-place finisher. This would have originally led into the RLCS World Championships before the event was canceled.

Psyonix has a difficult decision ahead of them, so stay tuned for Daily Esports for any updates on the situation.

Fortnite professionals Aydan and Bizzle parts ways with Ghost Gaming

Perhaps the two best controller players in Fortnite have left their longtime organization in Ghost Gaming. Both Aydan “Aydan” Conrad and Tim “Bizzle” Miller announced on Twitter yesterday that they’ve parted ways with the organization.

The two made it clear that the parting was on mutual terms, but it’s still curious to see both players leave at the same time. Perhaps Ghost Gaming doesn’t see a future in Fortnite esports, or maybe something else was going on behind the scenes. Regardless, the two controller players are looking for new homes, just like many other Fortnite professionals.

Aydan and Bizzle depart

Both Aydan and Bizzle have been a part of Ghost Gaming since the beginning of their Fortnite careers. It took a little while for professional organizations to recognize controller players as legitimate competitors, which is why it took longer for the two to find a home.

However, once they did with Ghost, they planted their roots firmly. Both players have been on Ghost for around two years, garnering massive amounts of success. No one knows exactly why they left Ghost Gaming, but this is what both had to say about their decisions.

Both players cite that neither side did anything wrong, but it was simply time to move on. Also, each made it clear that they’re looking for a new organization to represent. So, it seems Fortnite is a part of their future, which can’t be said for other professionals.

For those wondering if the two plan to stick together, it doesn’t appear so. Bizzle left a comment on Aydan’s farewell Twitter post, likely signaling the end of the tandem.

It’s unclear where either player will end up, but any organization that grabs Aydan or Bizzle is getting a quality player.

Whenever Aydan and Bizzle do sign with a team, we’ll be sure to let you know here at Daily Esports.
