The GTA Trilogy will get GTA 5-like aiming, according to a recent data mine
The Grand Theft Auto Trilogy will be out by the end of the year, but Rockstar is still staying tight-lipped on all the details. However, fans are now hunting down some bonus facts about the upcoming collection and posting them around the internet, specifically in the GTA forums.
Prolific GTA data miner alloc8or — who recently data-mined the upcoming game’s achievements — has discovered some hidden text on Rockstar’s website that indicates some major improvements coming to Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Three iconic cities, three epic stories. Play the genre-defining classics of the original Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas updated for a new generation, now with across-the-board enhancements including brilliant new lighting and environmental upgrades, high-resolution textures, increased draw distances, Grand Theft Auto V-style controls and targeting, and much more, bringing these beloved worlds to life with all new levels of detail.
It looks like the GTA Trilogy will see an updated control scheme more akin to what fans expect from GTA 5. The trilogy will also, apparently, see a host of visual improvements — although players should still expect these to look like 20 year-old games.
The data miner also discovered that fans who purchase the Definitive Edition of the trilogy on the Rockstar store by the end of the year are eligible for a special discount on their next purchase.
While alloc8or has a good reputation for being accurate, and has successfully mined details before, it’s worth keeping in mind that Rockstar has yet to confirm any of these features. Take all of these new details with a grain of salt until Rockstar officially announces them closer to release.
We’ve reached out to Rockstar regarding these new leaks and will update this story if the studio responds.
