Ubisoft’s "Battlecat" Leaks And Shows A PVP Title With Splinter Cell, The Division, And Breakpoint

Ubisoft’s “Battlecat” has leaked and appears to be a PVP game that combines Splinter Cell, The Division, and Ghost Recon.

This leak comes courtesy of Twitter user Zer0Bytes0, who posted screenshots of the title and revealed that testing for it began in January. When reporting on the leak VGC said that it was aiming for consoles and PC, although all we see in this leak are what looks like concept art and gameplay explanations.

VGC also clarifies that the game won’t be making an appearance at Ubisoft Forward, and is still in the early stages of development. This would explain why all we’ve seen of the game is some static concept images. It would also corroborate with the news that the game began testing this January.

Although this game appears to be a mash-up of Splinter Cell, The Division and Ghost Recon, the characters shown in this leak are all nameless members of the different groups from those games, each with their own abilities and classes. Splinter Cell is represented by The Echelon, and focuses on stealth gameplay and the ability to block radars.

Meanwhile, Ghost Recon is shown through The Wolves and have higher armour rates and the ability to use flashbangs. The Division gets the most characters, as it is shown through The Cleaners and The Outcasts, with one focusing on fire and the other being a support class.

This leak also shows two game modes, Escort and Ringleader. Escort has players escorting a package to a delivery zone, whilst Ringleader has players fighting for rings after killing enemies. The rest of the leak shows off some of the class abilities, such as the Cleaners flamethrowers.

The reaction to Battlecat so far has been a bit negative, with most of the comments focusing on the game’s current looks and comparing it to a mobile title. Early reactions from this leak also have Splinter Cell fans let down yet again as the IP is placed into something that isn’t a proper Splinter Cell game.
