The Game Awards 2020 is fast approaching, with coverage of the big end-of-year gaming extravaganza kicking off at 11.30pm GMT on Thursday December 10. A pre-show lasting half an hour, which is hosted by Sydnee Goodman, will begin then with The Game Awards 2020 event starting at 12am GMT on Friday December 11. Besides the annual dishing out of gongs, there will be plenty of unannounced games getting announced at TGA 2020.

In a recent Reddit AMA session, Game Awards creator and host Geoff Keighley was quizzed about what’s in store at this year’s event.

And, as reported by Gematsu, Keighley revealed that over a dozen unannounced games will be unveiled at The Game Awards 2020.

Keighley said between 12 and 15 previously unannounced games will be revealed at The Game Awards 2020, with “announcements from big triple-A games and also smaller titles”.

Keighley also said “nothing from our main show has been leaked that I know of so far”, which could put to bed those rumours that have been swirling around for awhile that a new Silent Hill game will get announced at TGA 2020.

Ghost of Tsushima: Dramatic trailer ahead of PS4 release

The TGA host and creator was also questioned whether this year’s event will have a surprise announcement, like last year’s reveal of the Xbox Series X.

Keeping his lips sealed, Keighley teased: “I guess you just have to tune in and find out!”

Keighley also said the main TGA 2020 show should last for around two and a half hours, a considerable runtime which is in keeping with previous show lengths.

In the run-up to The Game Awards 2020 kicking off the event’s official account has been dropping a number of announcements.

The first award winner has been announced, with PS4 exclusive Ghost of Tsushima scooping the Player’s Voice Award.

While it has also been revealed that the first gameplay trailer for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War season one will debut at TGA 2020.

It has also been announced that YouTuber Jacksepticeye and A Way Out director Joseph Fares – who provided one of TGA’s most memorable moments – will appear as presenters.

While Lyn Inaizumi, the voice of the iconic and incredible Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal soundtracks, will be performing during the TGA 2020 pre-show.

That’s one performance you do not want to miss.
