Streamer Beats Breath Of The Wild Without Taking A Single Step
PointCrow, a medium-sized Twitch streamer, successfully took on the challenge of beating The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – without walking. The absolute madman cleared the entire game without so much as taking a single step forward, instead opting to travel by using a series of jumps, slides, and glides.
Despite taking many hours to accomplish the feat, he trimmed the adventure down into a neat YouTube video. Seeing Link awkwardly hop across the battlefield towards opponents was a spectacle in itself; Menial tasks were rendered frustrating and time-consuming. Nevertheless, he got the job done.
Although Link technically walked during the game’s cut-scenes, PointCrow never did when the character was under his control. If the streamer accidentally slipped up, he would simply reload from the last save point.
As it turns out, PointCrow is no stranger to playing the Zelda entry with handicaps. His audience largely grew from his attempts at strange speedruns, also beating the game only using only a stick a few months prior.
It seems that the trend of beating video games with strange handicaps is starting to pick up steam. First of all, Pokémon Sword and Shield has offered plenty of content for bored gamers. One Reddit user decided to beat the entirety of Pokémon Shield using only a single Wooloo – one of the weakest Pokémon in existence. In a throwback to Pokémon Platinum, Twitch streamer “Smallant1” beat the entire game without taking any damage.
Pokémon aside, another small YouTuber and Twitch streamer by the name of “TheRealSpidersGeorg_” beat the Abyss Watchers boss from Dark Souls 3 using a toaster in the place of a controller. Additionally, “HandicapableOne” managed to completely clear Jump King- Ghost of the Babe using only his chin – a necessity in his case due to muscular dystrophy. Suffice to say, there’s a wave of talented and creative gamers who are taking on challenging games from different angles.
Overall, PointCrow’s undertaking was quite successful; It takes patience to clear an entire game without using the character’s basic movement function. Not only did he pull off the stunt, he kept an active Twitch chat entertained throughout the process – hats off!
