Ori And The Will Of The Wisps Optimized For Xbox Series X

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is already a beautiful game, but it’ll look even better running on your new Xbox Series X. Moon Studios has optimized Ori’s second outing for next-gen consoles, offering improved frame rates and an in increased resolution.

A new trailer posted by Xbox shows off all the visual improvements. Ori’s journey can now be experienced in 4K HDR at 120fps. The minute-long video highlights a few other additions, including instant input response, faster loading times, high fidelity audio, and increased dynamic range. It’s part of Xbox Smart Delivery, meaning current-gen owners get the game for free on Series X/S. You can check out the video below to see Ori in all its next-gen glory:

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a follow-up to the critically acclaimed Ori and the Blind Forest. The second installment in the series has you step back into the shoes of Ori, a diminutive white creature of unknown origin. It looks a bit like a cross between a cat, rabbit, and human – and looks absolutely adorable in plushie form. Your journey will take you through several dazzling biomes, as you try to save the world around you and discover Ori’s destiny. It’s an incredible Metroidvania that any platformer fan won’t want to miss.

Earlier this year the game included on Xbox Game Pass, but has since left the service. Still, as part of Xbox Smart Delivery, anyone who currently owns Will of the Wisps will get a free upgrade for Series X or Series S.

Things are looking good for Microsoft’s new console, with Xbox saying it was the largest console launch in Xbox history. It doesn’t have the strongest launch lineup – especially when compared to Sony – but the inclusion of Game Pass and Xbox Smart Delivery means you should have plenty of games to play on your new system. Like Ori and the Will of the Wisps, dozens of games have been optimized for Series X, letting you experience enhanced graphics, faster load times, and smoother frame rates.
