Monster Hunter Rise Will Come To PC With All Post Launch Content On Day One
January 12, 2022 isn't too far off for those of you looking forward to playing Monster Hunter Rise on PC. Slaying monsters and making armour out of their body parts was always going to feel better in a higher frame rate. While the Steam launch announcement was music to fans' ears itself, a recent announcement by Capcom just made things better.
Steam users will be able to play Monster Hunter Rise along with all the post launch content that came to the Switch version on day one itself. "When Monster Hunter Rise launches on Steam, it will include all of the content up to Ver.3.6.1 of the Nintendo Switch version," said the developer via a post on Steam. "We are also planning to synch the content with the Nintendo Switch version at the end of February 2022."
This will include the collaborations with Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, Okami, Street Fighter, Mega Man 11, Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Monsters added to the game post launch will also be included on day one; they are Teostra, Kushala Daora, Chameleos, Apex Diablos, Apex Rathalos, Crimson Glow Valstrax, and Apex Zinogre. The new ending for the mail questline will also be accessible.
In our review earlier this year, we said "It's a great entry point thanks to the Village Quests and helpful dog companion. If you're a fan who already pre-ordered and want to know if it's good, rest assured. You might actually like Rise better than World, as it brings back some of the strategic variety while building on more recent quality-of-life updates."
However there were a few issues due to the limited capabilities of the Switch. We noted things like fauna moving at a very low framerate in the distance, but these issues should ideally be resolved with the Steam version.
Sega and Capcom teamed up earlier this month for a crossover to celebrate Sonic's 30 year anniversary. The collaboration brought a bunch of Sonic themes armour sets and cosmetics to Monster Hunter Rise. The coolest among them being a full Sonic skin for your Palico.
