The Xbox Game Pass is the subscription service that gets the most love from Microsoft, and there are even rumours that the tech giant is planning to get rid of Xbox Live Gold and Games with Gold with it.
It’s fair to say that the best games are reserved for Xbox Game Pass, which boasts a ton of different genres and gameplay experiences.
But there is one feature that both subscription services share: the Xbox Free Play Days event.
Free Play Days is Microsoft’s way of letting gamers who have an Xbox Live Network or Xbox Game Pass subscription to try out full games for free.
They’re only available for a short period, but they offer the full experience, meaning they’re not just trials.
And the latest event includes one game genre that isn’t properly serviced on either Games with Gold or Xbox Game Pass this month.
While Free Play Days includes two games already on Xbox Game Pass, it also includes AO Tennis 2.
And as of right of now according to the Xbox Game Pass Library search, there doesn’t appear to be a Tennis game available to play.
The other two – Battlefield 4 and Neon Abyss – are already available on XGP and are completely redundant for those who own a subscription.
So if you fancy hitting the court and testing your mettle with some fast volleys, this weekend will be the perfect time to do.
AO Tennis 2 scored some pretty average review scores but does offer some unique gameplay that isn’t available across Games with Gold or Xbox Game Pass in August.

The official game description provides a little more insight into what you can do in-game, telling gamers:
“In AO Tennis 2, tennis fans can take themselves from the outside courts to centre-stage glory in the all-new narrative-driven career mode.
“For the first time in AO Tennis, success for a young talented player depends as much on external events as great play on the court, which provides deeper immersion into the world of professional tennis.
“Players can once again use Big Ant’s celebrated content editor, which was loved by the community in AO Tennis, to customise every element of their game.
“Furthermore, all content created and shared by users since the first game from 2018 will be available in AO Tennis 2. That’s over 20,000 players and hundreds of courts that can be enjoyed by fans of the sport.”
AO Tennis 2 is available to download and play for free this weekend with the right subscription on Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
The free trial is scheduled to end on August 16 in the UK, but gamers can also pick up AO Tennis 2 at a discounted price during that period.
Meanwhile, on Games with Gold, August 16 will see the release of both Yooka-Laylee and Garou: Mark of the Wolves as new downloadable free games.
