Gamers will 'feel silly' about arguing over PS5 tech specs, says Order: 1886 dev

After the lukewarm response to the recent PlayStation 5 tech news, the developer of The Order: 1886 has nothing but praise for the console.

We finally learned some more information about the PlayStation 5 recently. It was mostly technical details and a couple of features though, such as how it will handle backwards compatibility, while its actual appearance remains a mystery.

Infact, judging by the general response, the news seems to have done very littlein getting people excited for the console. One developer, however, has defendedit, calling it ‘one of the most revolutionary, inspired home consoles everdesigned.’

Andrea Pessino, one of the founders of Ready at Dawn, took to Twitter to make a bet that gamers will come to appreciate the PlayStation 5 within a year of launch and ‘will feel silly for having spent energy arguing about ‘teraflops’ and other similarly misunderstood specs’.

Given that game was so focused on looking good, perhaps it’s no wonder that Pessino is impressed with the PlayStation 5’s power.

He certainly isn’t the first developer to praise the console. Earlier this month, one studio head described the PlayStation 5’s tech as being very exciting, praising its graphical power in particular.

However, what developers find exciting is not necessarily the same as general consumers. This was best demonstrated by the reaction to the recent PlayStation 5 event, which many found boring due to it being so focused on the specs of the console.

The PlayStation 5 is currently slated to release sometime before Christmas.
