FIFA 21 TOTY is launching soon, with EA set to unveil their latest Team of the Year squad this week. Earlier this week voting for FIFA 21 TOTY closed, with FIFA fans getting around a week and a half to choose their dream 11 from a list of dozens of nominees. And in the aftermath of voting closing EA announced that the Team of the Year squad would be unveiled on Friday January 22.
On the FIFA 21 TOTY website EA said: “70 of the best players from the past 12 months were nominated for the FIFA 21 Team of the Year, with your votes helping to decide who makes the final XI – the definitive list of the world’s best.
“The final Team of the Year XI will be announced on January 22, when special TOTY player items featuring some of the highest ratings of the season will be released in FUT 21 to celebrate each player’s incredible performances over the course of a year like no other.”
EA hasn’t announced a start time for the FIFA 21 TOTY reveal, but looking at last year’s launch may give us an idea.
With the 2020 Team of the Year squad EA unveiled the squad at 4pm UK time on release date, with the new FUT cards available in packs a few hours later at 6pm UK time.
We’ll have to wait and see whether EA follows a similar rollout for this year’s Team of the Year squad.

In terms of who could feature in FIFA 21 TOTY, it wouldn’t be a surprise for the upcoming Team of the Year squad to resemble the latest FIFA FIFPro Men’s World11.
This dream team was voted for by thousands of players from around the world and was revealed at The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony last month.
As a reminder, here is the full FIFPro Men’s World11 line-up…
Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Sergio Ramos, Virgil van Dijk, Alphonso Davies, Kevin de Bruyne, Thiago Alcantara, Joshua Kimmich, Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Cristiano Ronaldo
Last year’s FIFA Team of the Year and FIFPro Men’s World11 shared a few similarities, but diverged in a number of key positions.
Both EA and FIFA’s dream teams had Alisson in goal, van Dijk and Matthijs de Ligt in defence, with Frenkie de Jong in midfield and Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in attack.

But there were some big differences in other areas of the line-up.
While FIFA’s defence included Real Madrid duo Sergio Ramos and Marcelo, EA’s had Liverpool double act Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
And in midfield there were other big divides, with FIFA including Luka Modric and Eden Hazard while EA’s squad had Kevin de Bruyne and N’Golo Kante.
Up front there was also another major difference, with FIFA’s team including Cristiano Ronaldo – but EA’s squad omitted this superstar in favour of Liverpool’s Sadio Mane.
