Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s Second DLC Pack Powers Up On November 17
Nearly three months after formally announcing it, Bandai Namco has confirmed that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s second DLC pack will be releasing on November 17, 2020. Coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One, the aptly titled “A New Power Awakens – Part 2” will be the second part of Kakarot’s season pass and will close out all of the DLC plans for this open-world action title.
In a new trailer released today, we get an extended look at SSGSS Vegeta battling Golden Freiza in what looks to be a boss fight. The first part of this DLC pack contained a fight against Beerus after some small questline, so this will likely be the same. It appears as if the level cap has also been raised as both Vegeta and Freiza are sporting LVL 170 under their health bars.
The addition of Dragon Ball Super content in Kakarot is very much appreciated, but a lot of fans aren’t happy with how limited this DLC is. Instead of expanding the story of Kakarot or offering anything that would justify the $25 price tag of the season pass, these two packs seem more like bonus content that wasn’t ready for launch.
A potential sequel for Kakarot would likely make better use of Super’s storylines and characters, but it definitely is a bummer that fans weren’t able to receive the continuation they wanted. At least if you felt that the main Kakarot game was too hard, you could always buy the DLC and unlock SSGSS mode. That way, nothing will stop you in the main game.
