Guardians will soon be hunting down Xur again this week as Bungie brings back the elusive Destiny 2 merchant with a new stack of exotic loot.

As usual, the Legendary Shard and Glimmer obsessive will be returning to the game after a short break on the sidelines following the weekly reset.

And while there is no clear way of knowing what Xur will be offering this week, gamers should know soon after they track him down on his planet of choice.

Xur is only located in a few unique places spread across the worlds of Destiny, including places like the EDZ, Nessus and The Tower.

Last week, Xur could be found hanging out in The Tower near Dead Orbit, selling several choice items.

These included the Vigilance Wing Primary Pulse Rifle, Shards of Galanor Hunter Gauntlets, Antaeus Wards Titan Leg Armor, and Karnstein Armlets Warlock Gauntlets.

All of these could be purchased with the right amount of Legendary Shards and Glimmer, with a number of other items also included.

Legendary weapons and armour can also be bought from Xur during Season 15, and more is expected to arrive in-game later today.

And for anyone who has forgotten, Legendary Shards used by Xur are remnants of powerful items used to improve gear or trade for other stuff.

It should also be noted that Xur will be dropping items similar in power level to your character.

And another part of Xur that is new to the latest version of Destiny 2 is that he now drops Cipher Quests for free.

The Quest will reward you with an exotic Cipher, and last week included completing 21 Strikes or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.

Every week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that will decrypt as Exotics that aren’t already in your collection.

Last week also saw Guardians trying to keep Xur in the game for as long as possible using an instance exploit.

Efforts were being made so that as many Guardians as possible could try and grab a True Prophecy weapon boasting the Rangefinder and Timed Payload.

It’s also likely that there will be a bigger crowd looking for Xur this week, following the removal of Fridays other big event launch.

With Iron Banner back in the mix, there will be no Trials of Osiris launching today on PS4, Xbox One or PC.

Bungie has also announced further changes being made following several weekends of matchmaking experiments.

“Last weekend, we tried out some changes to matchmaking in Trials of Osiris. We shifted to a system that put some focus on overall wins, pushing players into different buckets depending on how much they had played (and won) on a given weekend.

“While we are incredibly happy with the amount of data we were able to collect, this matchmaking system did not meet the goals that we had established last Thursday.

“As we continue to hone in on what settings we would like for Trials overall, we appreciate all who have been hopping in for a few cards and sounding off with feedback. Pairing data with player feedback and experiences is key to continued success.”
