Destiny 2 gamers will be busy hunting down Xur’s location today so that they can check out where the best rewards are this week.

The merchant will be arriving on one of Destiny’s worlds at the same time as the Trials kicks off, meaning there will be several ways of unlocking new loot.

However, unlike having to take down other Fireteams in the Crucible to unlock the best rewards, finding out where Xur is and what he is selling is much easier.

Bungie never provides a rundown on what will be available, meaning gamers have to wait until Xur arrives back on the map.

Last week, Xur could be found in The Tower hangar near Dead Orbit, offering the following rewards: Telesto for 29 Shards, Claws of Ahamkara for 23 Shards, Actium War Rig for 23 Shards, and Lucky Pants for 23 Shards.

And when Xur is back in the game, he will have a new list of items and engrams to check out across PS4, Xbox One, PC and next-gen consoles.

And when he does appear today, we’ll be sure to add everything Xur is offering this week at the top of this article.

For anyone who has forgotten, Legendary Shards used by Xur items are remnants of powerful items used to improve gear or trade for other items.

It should also be noted that Xur will be dropping items similar in power level to your character.

And another part of Xur that is new to the latest version of Destiny 2 is that he now drops Cipher Quests for free.

The Quest will reward you with an exotic Cipher, and last week included completing 21 Strikes or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.

Every week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that will decrypt as Exotics that aren’t already in your collection.

Xur is one of the only areas of the game that remains unchanged and provides pretty much the same services as back in the original game.

But other parts are scheduled to see some major revamps, including how abilities work when the next season is launched.

These plans are being slowly unveiled by the Destiny 2 team, with the biggest news being saved for an event at the end of the month.

Here’s what we know what will be changing so far, with Bungie confirming this week:

“Starting next Season, you’ll be able to bind your charged melee attack and your uncharged melee attack to separate inputs, giving you greater control of when you use your abilities. This is an opt-in feature, and these new actions will be unbound by default. When you go to customize your controls, you’ll see the following new entries in the action list:

“Auto-melee is the new name for the melee action that you’re used to. Your melee is context-sensitive and its behaviour will change based on your equipped ability and your proximity to enemies. It usually does its job well but will occasionally betray player intent.

“Charged melee is a new action that will always activate your charged melee ability upon button press, regardless of whether an enemy is in lunge range. Pressing the input when your melee ability is not fully charged will perform no action and cause the melee-ability icon to flash red, similar to how the grenade ability works.”
