Destiny 2 Festival Of The Lost 2020 – Rewards And Activities

Rejoice, guardians, as the Festival of the Lost event has returned to Destiny 2 in 2020. Leading up to the Dawning, this Halloween themed event is all about embracing the spooky season with new cosmetics, activities, and sweet consumables. If you’re a new player who hasn’t had a chance to experience the Festival of the Lost in years past, then it might all seem a little overwhelming. Let us be your temporary Ghost and show you all the rewards and activities that await you in this bone chilling event.

Destiny 2 Festival Of The Lost Activities

The Festival of the Lost kicks is live now and continues on until November 3, giving you a full four weeks of Halloween fun. So, what special horror activities can you participate in during this time?

The Haunted Forest

The main event of the Festival of the Lost is the Haunted Forest, which is essentially a more holiday-appropriate version of the Infinite Forest. It isn’t found on any of the planets, though, and is only reachable as an activity. Grab two friends and dive into the terrifying Branches to hunt down specific enemies called Terrors on a 15-minute timer. The more Branches you and your friends can make it through, the more rewards you will earn.

When you complete the Haunted Forest you will also notice some unique chests that require special Cipher Decoders to unlock. These are rare items that you can only get during the Festival of the Lost, but luckily are not hard to come by. They have been added as drops to almost all of the existing activities in Destiny 2, plus as random drops. Each Cipher can be used to open one of the chests in the Haunted Forest, with five being the maximum number of chests that appear.

Festival Of The Lost Masks

Another not quite as Halloween focused activity you can participate in is the chain of Bounties and a Triumph you can take on for special Festival of the Lost masks. These are worth jumping in on while you can by completing a quest given by Eva Levante on the Tower.

Destiny 2 Festival Of The Lost Rewards

There are a ton of rewards you’ll be able to get your hands on during the Festival of the Lost, such as masks of various Tower vendors and bosses, Horror Story and Braytech Wolf Auto Rifle variants, and three new exotic items: the Restless Shell for your Ghost, Tomb Rider for your Sparrow, and Wrap Speed for your ship. You can also get some new mods specifically made for the Masquerader’s Helmet.

If you’re wearing a mask while completing activities and killing enemies, you will also start earning Candy and Chocolate Strange Coins you can use to purchase new masks from Eva.

Another returning element from last year’s Festival of the Lost is a redacted Triumph to be revealed at a later date, plus a special Seal for meeting all the Triumph requirements. These include:

  • Masked Accomplice: Complete all Festival of the Lost 2020 Triumphs
  • Cache Grab: Open caches in the Haunted Forest with Cipher Decoders
  • Cache Cow: Open caches in the Haunted Forest with Cipher Decoders
  • Cache Galore: Open caches in the Haunted Forest with Cipher Decoders
  • Many Faces: Acquire all Festival of the Lost 2020 masks
  • Wrapped and Ready: Acquire the Mummy Ghost from Eva
  • Ride or Die: Acquire the Festival of the Lost Sparrow from Eva
  • Entombed Horizons: Acquire the Festival of the Lost Ship from Eva
  • [REDACTED]
