Dataminer Uncovers Another Sign That Points To Modern Warfare 2 Remastered
Although no official confirmations or announcements have been made, more and more leaks are starting to appear all over the internet that suggest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is coming.
The latest leak to suggest this comes in the form of a data mine that was found within Call of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s files. Specifically, after the latest update for the game was released, PC players were able to dig through the files and discovered a description and basic artwork for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered‘s campaign. The files show the iconic cover of the game with the phrase “Campaign Remastered” written underneath Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

As hopeful as this may seem to fans, it would seem that only the campaign aspect of the game is going to be remastered. No evidence or clues point to the multiplayer aspect of the game, which could very well mean that the game mode may not see a remaster. Considering the fact that the multiplayer aspect of Call of Duty games is what the majority of fans tend to focus on, not having multiplayer in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered may seem a bit confusing or disappointing. Nonetheless, it’s best to wait for an official announcement from Activision before making any speculations.
The latest leak about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 getting remastered is yet another one in a series of leaks that have been posted recently. Not that long ago, another leak suggested that Activision was working on the remastered version, while another report stated that the game was already rated by the PEGI (Pan European Game Information) rating system. Again, it’s important to emphasize that until Activision officially confirms that a remastered version Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 does indeed exist, all leaked and data mined information should be taken with a grain of salt.
Considering the frequency of the leaks, it’s safe to predict that even more information will come to light in the future. We may even get some details about the Spec Ops element, if we’re lucky.
