Captain ToonHead vs the Punks from Outer Space Arrives in November

Last month Teravision Games revealed the first gameplay footage for its upcoming tower defence title Captain ToonHead vs the Punks from Outer Space. Today, the studio has confirmed that a multiplatform launch will take place in early November.

This will be Teravision Games’ first fully realised IP having previously focussed on developing licensed titles for the likes of Namco, Disney, Nickelodeon and Atari. Captain ToonHead vs the Punks from Outer Space is going to be a hectic mashup of tower defence and first-person shooter (FPS) genres with plenty of influences from the teams’ Latin American roots.

With a narrative where you play as the titular character who teams up with cartoon-obsessed spaceship technician Elliot Salazar, you’re trying to save the world from Earth’s last dictator, Nikolas Voorhees. He unleashes a myriad of technologically enhanced creatures such as T-Rexes and Cyber-C.H.I.C.K.E.N.s, alongside more general cyberpunk grunts. To deal with this menace you’ll have your own blasters and a selection of quirky towers to place, like Senor Pignatas that flings devastating pig-shaped explosives.

The goal is to protect the vital Enercube’s because once you rescue them after each mission you’ll be able to begin upgrading all of your kit for the next battle.

“Putting the game our team has been working on for almost 3 years in the hands of players for the first time at an event like PAX is a very scary thing,” says Enrique Fuentes, CEO of Teravision Games. “Fortunately, after hundreds of players tried the game, we can say they had tons of fun and really connected with all the nonsensical craziness we have created. We can’t wait to have Captain ToonHead out in the world in less than 2 months!”

Teravision Games will launch Captain ToonHead vs the Punks from Outer Space on 11th November 2021 for Oculus Quest, Rift and HTC Vive, with PlayStation VR and Valve Index editions expected in 2022. VRFocus will continue its coverage of Captain Toonhead, reporting back with further updates.
