Call Of Duty: Warzone Season 4 and COD Mobile Season 7 delayed due to protests
Activision has postponed Season 4 of Call Of Duty: Warzone, and the next season of Call Of Duty Mobile, saying ‘now is not the time’.
Following Sony’s announcement that it will delay the planned PlayStation 5 reveal event, Activision has also announced that it will postpone the start of the next seasons of Call Of Duty online content.
Season 4 of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone was due to have started on Wednesday, 3 June and while Call Of Duty Mobile didn’t have a specific date for Season 7 it was supposed to be this week.
In a short statement on Twitter, Activision said that ‘now is not the time’ and that, ‘Right now it’s time for those speaking up for equality, justice, and change to be seen and heard’.
Many other video games companies have posted similar messages regarding the current situation in America, with EA yesterday postponing the reveal of Madden NFL 21.
Sony’s PlayStation 5 reveal event on Thursday would have been on the same day as George Floyd’s memorial service, making anything happening this week especially insensitive.
After several existing delays, Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 is due to start next Thursday, 11 June but that is now likely to be in doubt too.
