Call of Duty Warzone: Do you need Xbox Live to play?
Call of Duty Warzone arrives today to the delight of many fans across the globe.
The popular combat game is about to get bigger and crazier than in a new game where up to 150 players can explore a massive world.
There will be two different maps to enjoy – Battle Royale and Plunder.
The map will also feature more than 300 points of interest and a variety of landscapes.
Call of Duty Warzone is free to play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and launches today at 3pm for those who already have Modern Warfare, and 7pm for those who don't.
But as it is an online gaming experience many fans are wondering whether they need an Xbox Live subscription to play.
Is Xbox Live required to play?
Yes, those playing on Xbox One will require a current Xbox Live Gold subscription to play.
On the flip side, those with a Sony console will not need a PS Plus subscription to play.
However, if they do have a PS Plus subscription they will be able to download the exclusive Warzone Combat Pack.
There is no equivalent for those with an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
One month of Xbox Live Gold costs £6.99, three months costs £17.99, or £49.99 for a year.
So what can you expect from Call of Duty Warzone?
Call of Duty Warzone is a battle royale game, a bit like Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode.
Warzone takes place in Verdansk, and there are two different modes – Battle Royale and Plunder.
In Battle Royale your trio will be put against other squads in a last team standing battle.
A circle of deadly gas will tighten around the battles to heighten the intensity.
Plunder is a respawn mode where players race to collect the most Cash and other loot.
Call of Duty Warzone goes live for those who already have Modern Warfare at 3pm GMT today.
Those who don’t already possess the game will be able to download it at 7pm GMT tonight.
