Assassin’s Creed Valhalla fixes to be a priority says producer
While Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has plenty of DLC in the works, the game will continue to receive various patches and fixes as well.
When it first launched, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was riddled with various bugs and glitches.
Ubisoft has been patching them out since then and, according to the game’s producer, post-launch fixes will continue to be a priority.
In an interview with Game Informer, producer Julien Laferrière was asked about what was sitting at the top of the list of priorities for the game’s future.
While there are several free content updates and sizable expansions planned, Laferrière admits that he finds quality-of-life fixes to be the most important thing to work on.
He also mentions further capitalising on the capabilities of the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions.
‘We’ve got great reception on PS5, Series X, and PC as well; people are definitely enjoying the high-end capabilities of the game, so we want to continue to capitalise on that,’ he says.
‘This isn’t meant to sound like bulls**t or cliché, but for me, it’s about hearing what the player base is saying and reacting to that, on top of the extra content and the features.’
The most recent additions to the game have been the Christmas-themed Yule Festival event and microtransactions, where players can essentially buy booster packs that earn them more experience and in-game money faster.
That last one comes across as rather sneaky, as it means Ubisoft avoided having them mentioned in reviews or in product warnings on physical packaging.
And given the bad reputation microtransactions have received over the years, their inclusion in the base game may have turned people away and cost Ubisoft sales.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia, and Amazon Luna.
