Where are the best places to drop in Call of Duty: Warzone?
With a map as big as Verdansk, it can be hard to know where to drop in Call of Duty: Warzone. With multiple zones, areas, and named buildings to explore, it can be a bit overwhelming trying to pick the best location to land. Thankfully, Infinity Ward’s latest entry into the battle royale genre has provided an atlas to Verdansk. Let’s take a scenic look at the city of Verdansk, and maybe we can walk away with a victory.

Warzone’s city of Verdansk
One of the most important things to be aware of in Warzone is the Tac Map. This map breaks down all the locations in the game, providing names of places and showing the location of the gas. The city of Verdansk is broken into five sectors, and each sector is then broken up into zones. A zone can be just points of interest or include specific buildings and locations.
The sectors are Verdansk North, West, Southwest, Central and South, and East. Different sectors have different environments associated with them. Verdansk North is a more tundra-like environment with the massive Gora Dam overlooking the town. Meanwhile, Verdansk Central and South is the center of the city, with the downtown district and the Verdansk Stadium to hide in.
The Verdansk International Airport
Located on the west side of Warzone’s map, the Verdansk International Airport has seen better days. Thankfully for you, it is one of the best drop sites in Warzone. The airport and its surrounding areas are huge, sprawling spaces. Broken machinery and forgotten luggage can act as barricades and offers plenty of cover during a firefight. Perhaps one of the most appealing aspects of the airport is that hiding inside the terminal is a helicopter. Just watch out for an early RPG. The airport also has one of the game’s best sniper spots in the control tower. The tower is on fire which is a downside, but so long as no one spots you, the tower can be a good defensive position.
The airport does tend to attract a lot of players however, so landing just outside and scouting the area a bit might be a better play. Just to the south is the Atlas Superstore, with plenty of caches to loot early on. The Superstore is another huge building with a lot of access points, making it difficult to cover them all.
The Verdansk Stadium
The Verdansk Stadium, home of the Verdansk… Sports Team. The stadium is a huge complex that provides a lot of benefits as a drop site in Call of Duty: Warzone. Landing on top of the stadium is not recommended early on as it has little to no cover and no caches or boxes to loot. It does provide a fantastic lookout spot to keep an eye out for other players, however; just make sure to keep moving. Around the stadium are multiple Buy Stations and spawn locations for vehicles. The stadium is also nice because it has access to a downtown district to the south and a more open area to the north.
Verdansk Hospital
Another popular starting area in Warzone is the Verdansk Hospital. Situated in the southwest sector of the map, the hospital is located just outside the main downtown district of Verdansk. The hospital is great because of the complicated network of floors and rooms inside. Particularly good players can set up traps with C4 or bounce grenades down stairwells to take out pursuing enemies. There isn’t a ton of loot or caches in the area, so players will quickly have to venture out into the downtown area for better gear. This is made easier by several vehicles in the area, including a helicopter on the roof.
The Arklov Peak Military Base
At the very top of the Warzone map sits the Arklov Peak Military Base. Being a military base, there are plenty of caches, vehicles, and Buy Stations in the area. This is a great starting zone as it is isolated from other zones on the map while also providing lots of opportunities to upgrade equipment. It is also not hard to leave once players feel good about their loadout. There is typically at least one truck on the base and a helicopter nearby. As a nice bonus, heading south from the military base leads players right to the stadium and the rest of the downtown area.
General Verdansk intel
Fighting for your life in Call of Duty: Warzone can be stressful, and the fact that few locations have permanent item locations does not help. However, there are some locations that players can always depend on for ammo and other loot. Gun stores and police stations will always have ammo caches in or around them. It’s guaranteed to be an opportunity to restock.
If you’re playing Plunder mode, banks typically have more cash in them than other buildings, as to be expected. Trying to rob one is a bit of risk however, as taking money from a bank sets off an alarm and will alert other players to your location. There are four banks across Verdansk, each one in a different zone.
