MPL-PH Season 6 playoffs format changes – no more double-elimination
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines playoffs are set to begin this weekend with a new format. The MPL-PH Season 6 playoffs will not be utilizing a double-elimination bracket and will instead be single-elimination only.
“Combined with the storyline-filled matchups in the first round, the sudden death factor that the new single-elimination format brings increases the stakes for each series, thus giving viewers more reasons to tune in,” the official press release explained.
The storylines are already looking spicy with some high quality first round matches and a little trash talk thrown in (looking at you BREN Esports & Nexplay Solid). The first round matchups were based on the finals standings of each of the teams from the regular season and it set up some amazing games.
