Fortnite: What's New In Patch v14.30?
Check out the latest changes and leaks in Fortnite patch v.14.30!
Fortnite’s third patch of Chapter 2 – Season 4 arrived after a brief period of downtime earlier this morning. Epic Games sent out their usual creator patch notes last night, which effectively replaced legitimate developer patch notes. That exclusive email included a new “fast-paced” Limited Time Mode (LTM) named Rally Royale, the Marvel Knockout Super Series and Combat Shotgun adjustment. It seems that Epic wants to make the once overpowered shotgun viable once again after nerfing it to the ground this season. Patch v14.30 is the first since this season’s flagship Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) began. Let’s dive into the changes and see what’s new!

Combat Shotgun Adjustments
The verdict is in, and unfortunately, Combat Shotguns did not return to Season X status. Although undoubtedly more viable, the Legendary version only hits for 63 without the headshot multiplier. With the headshot multiplier, the Legendary Combat Shotgun tops out at 94 damage. It’s the best long-range shotgun in Fortnite: Battle Royale, but it’s also the only long-range shotgun. Reddit user Latif_12 produced a video of the latest Combat Shotgun iteration.

Popular Fortnite data miner was able to extract some information about upcoming cosmetics in Battle Royale mode. Some noteworthy additions include brand new variations on Penny and Dummy, debuting Daredevil, Storm Racer skins and the strangely absent FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 4 foam finger back bling. Refer to the screenshot above for all of the leaked cosmetics.
Epic Games will add yet another TikTok dance to the fold as well – this time with The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’ immensely popular dance. HYPEX was able to retrieve the dance in full.
HYPEX also revealed some interesting tidbits of information regarding this year’s Fortnitemares event. In particular, some Halloween-themed consumables, items and chests will soon appear in Battle Royale. Consumables include candy corn, jelly beans, thermal taffy and more.
Loot boxes are named Broom Box and Candy Bucket. Not much is clear other than the names. The broom aspect leads HYPEX to believe that there will be brooms for mobility during Fortnitemares. That is merely a theory.
Galactus Moves Closer to the Battle Royale Island
Fortnite data miner iFireMonkey released a curious image of Marvel supervillain Galactus flying. Codenamed ‘Distant Object 2,’ it appears that Galactus will soon be visible to players in the sky. This revelation could have significant implications on the storyline. Some people conjured theories that Galactus could open a portal to the old Battle Royale island from Fortnite Chapter 1.
Here are some of the latest fixes applied in patch v14.30 according to Fortnite’s Trello board:
- Opening the map and placing a marker will cancel held player movements, requiring them to be input again.
- The audio of the Last Forever Emote may still play even when licensed audio is muted in the Audio settings.
That about wraps up the significant changes and leaks after patch v14.30 dropped earlier this morning. Check back here to see if more information trickles down throughout the day!
