Epic Games Cancels Fortnite World Cup Competition, Citing Pandemic Concerns

The cancellation of this year’s world cup has led Epic Games to the decision to bring back official broadcasts of competitive play that previously could only be seen by watching streams of the competitors or amatuer casters. Starting with the Fortnite Championship Series Invitational (FNCS) on Saturday, official broadcasts will be back.

The $2M Fortnite Championship Series Invitational features solo competitions by the best players from North America ( East and West), Europe, Brazil, Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East, in addition to some being directly invited by Epic Games.

The FNCS starts on May 9 and will run for three consecutive weekends.
